Haunani Hess is a self-taught Native Hawaiian visual artist born and based in Honolulu.  Haunani works primarily in mixed media, blending a painterly style with influences from textile design, layering color and texture in a way that feels both organic and patterned, evoking subtle nuances of Polynesia and the natural world.

Rooted in her connection to Hawai'i, she draws inspiration from the landscape, colors, and vibrant energy of her ancestral home.  A prolific artist, Haunani runs a busy art studio in Honolulu, producing new work regularly for galleries, hotels, interior designers, collectors, and local art events.
